Consultation européenne sur "l'Internet des objets"

La commission européenne a lancé une nouvelle consultation publique sur « l'Internet des objets » :

« Consultation on the early challenges regarding the "Internet of Things"

The context of this consultation is the preparation of a Communication from the European Commission on the Internet of Things (IoT), planned for the second quarter of 2009. Such a Communication was announced in the Communication from the European Commission on "Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in Europe: steps towards a policy framework" (COM(2007) 96 final.) The Communication on the Internet of Things will propose a policy approach addressing the whole range of political and technological issues related to the move from RFID and sensing technologies to the Internet of Things. It will focus especially on architectures, control of critical infrastructures, emerging applications, security, privacy and data protection, spectrum management, regulations and standards, broader socio-economic aspects. »

Parmi les grands défis à relever et soulignés dans le document de la commission, on notera en particulier les aspects sécurité et « privacy » (protection des données à caractère personnelle).

Il n'y a pas de question prédéfinie. Toute personne intéressée par ce sujet est invitée à lire et donner son opinion sur ce texte, proposer des changements, etc. Votre réponse doit leur parvenir par mail (infso-iot-europe@ec.europa.eu) en remplissant le document fourni (oui je sais c'est du .doc) avant le 28 novembre.

Bon, le document en question ne fait pas référence au logiciel libre... mais il insiste toutefois sur l'importance d'avoir des standards ouverts.

Donc, voilà les enjeux posés par ces technologies (en particulier la « privacy ») me semblent suffisamment importants pour intéresser le plus de citoyen européen et en particulier les libristes.
